Marianne is a warm and caring counsellor and coach who previously trained as a nurse and worked within the NHS for thirty four years. Marianne uses a range of skills including Hypnotherapy, Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), psychodynamic counselling, and coaching in her practice and abides by professional codes and ethics relevant to each specialism.
All clients are treated with compassion and respect in a non-judgemental way within a professional and safe environment. Marianne is passionate about helping people tackle whatever problem/challenges they may have in life no matter how large or small.

Sharon has undertaken extensive therapy training, she can offer hypnotherapy to treat a range of conditions and issues, that incorporates NLP and life coaching. In addition she also holds a diploma in counselling. Her practice has it’s foundation in the person centered approach.
Sharon has worked in both public, private sector, and has also worked in a women’s organisation.

What is hypnosis?
First of all, contrary to what many people believe, hypnosis is not always a trance state or a sleep state even though a person in hypnosis may appear to be sleeping. Hypnosis is really natural state of mind and is an important part of everyday life. Whenever our mind wanders, daydreams or is focused on something, such as reading a book, driving a familiar route, watching a film we are in a state of hypnosis.
Brain scans on people who are in hypnosis state show that brain wave activity moves from a Beta state to an Alpha state, and sometimes a Theta state. This is not dissimilar to the pattern of brain activity during meditation.
What can hypnotherapy help with?
There are many different situations that can be helped by hypnotherapy, from phobias and anxiety to stress, depression, pain management and weight loss. Addictions are also a common reason for seeking help from a hypnotherapist. Trying to break “the habit” can be unbearable, but with some carefully administered hypnotherapy you could soon find yourself in a much better place. Hypnotherapy can help remove limiting beliefs that hold many of us back from leading the life we were truly meant to live. Getting the most from your hypnotherapy session(s)
To really get the most out of your session(s) it’s essential that you are open to the process. Identify an area you would like some assistance with or to change. Don’t automatically think that hypnosis won’t work for you, because anyone can be hypnotised – even if they don’t know it. Chances are, you won’t even be aware that you are. Hypnosis is simply a state of deep relaxation so you’ll still be aware of things going on around you and you certainly won’t be asleep. Your therapist cannot make you do anything you do not wish to do. Your hypnotherapist will be your guide, helping your sub conscious mind to erase or change unwanted or unhelpful programmes that are getting in the way of you being your best self. You may not remember all of the session but that just means that it’s working.
